Abstract
This paper is concerned with computations involving the Raman amplification of a recirculating soliton pulse within a fiber optic ring. The pump source is a CW laser and the effects of pump depletion, pump walk off and self-/cross-phase modulation are included in the analysis. It is found that the combination of pump depletion and pump cross-phase modulation can cause the Stokes pulse to be shifted in time. The build up of recirculating pump power also affects the soliton peak power and pulse width
