Abstract :
FE-calculations have been carried out for the cross-section of the 56 mm superconducting LHC dipole prototype with aluminium common collar and a vertically split yoke. The structure has been studied at room temperature and at 1.8 K both energized and non-energized. Collaring and assembly procedure were also modeled. Considerations are also made about the influence of the tolerances on the behaviour of the structure
