Abstract :
Dr. Harold W. Nichols, Fellow of the Institute, died at his home in Maplewood, New Jersey, on November 14, last. Dr. Nichols was born in Iowa, on February 23, 1886. He gained his technical education at the Armour Institute of Technology. Chicago, from which institution he received the B.S. degree inI 1908, and E.E. in 1911. From the UJniversity of Chicago he received the degrees of M.S. and Ph.D. At the time of his death, Dr. Nichols was a Manager of the Institute, and had been for several years an earnest and valuable worker on important comnittees. At the October, 1925, meeting of the Board of Direction his name was placed in nominationl for the Presidency of the Institute. His untimely death is deeply regretted by his associates oIn the Board of Direction.
