Limited moving boundary extension of Orwell protocol

A modification of the Orwell protocol for the integration of voice and interactive data on a slotted ring is examined, where a limited moving boundary bandwidth allocation scheme is adopted. A simulation study in conjunction with a simple theoretical analysis for a symmetrically loaded ring indicates that the proposed scheme can give an overall improvement in data access, and that this improvement can be achieved with negligible degradation of voice services.
