Abstract :
A new method is introduced for frequency domain analysis of arbitrary lossy inhomogeneous planar layers (IPLs). In this method, all distributed electric and magnetic parameters of IPLs are expanded in Fourier series and also a periodic IPL is made from cascading infinite number of desired IPL. The reflection and transmission coefficients of desired IPL are obtained after finding the propagation constant and the characteristic impedances of its periodic model. The validity of the method is verified using analysis of some special types of planar layers
