Abstract
The propagation characteristics of the indoor channel in two frequencies bands, 900-1100 MHz and 1.5-1.7 GHz are compared. Results indicate that, in the higher frequency band, the channel: (i) has more than three times as many frequency response nulls and approximately 1.6 times as many impulse response peaks; and (ii) has a larger (approximately three times) RMS delay spread tau rms. In spite of (ii), calculations of tau rms in the 1.15-2.5 GHz band as a function of the centre frequency of the band, fc, suggest that on the spatial average, tau rms does not depend on fc.
