Abstract :
This paper presents a simple and efficient evolutionary strategy to solve the economic dispatch with generation constraints. Effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated using several test-system cases commonly found in the current literature. The performance is compared with other relevant methods, such the improved tabu-search (IT), genetic algorithm (GA), atavistic genetic algorithm (AGA). Numerical results show that the algorithm can provides accurate and good dispatch solutions outperforming the other methods.
