Abstract :
CIM has the aim of integrating the design, development, planning, manufacturing and marketing processes by providing comprehensive information and user-specific solutions. The author examines the state of the art in the design and development of good user interfaces and highlights some of the features of the Papillon Prototype system developed under the ESPRIT research programme. The Papillon tool sets support both the development of CIM applications and the automatic generation of configurable, portable and friendly user interfaces
