Abstract
A centralized control system in which the controls have been removed from their respective appliance structures and consolidated into a central electronic control console placed in a suitable environment for commonly specified electronic components is discussed. To eliminate additional costs of installation, the centralized control system uses current-carrier transmission technology to allow communications between the console and each appliance structure via the same household wires that provide electric power. The advantages of the system to the manufacturer and customer in cost reduction, convenience, cleanability, flexibility, convertibility, and reliability are covered
