Abstract
For those applications where FFT is only one of the processing jobs, it is suggested that general purpose instead of special, parallel hardware should be used. The model hardware works in an "alternating sequential-parallel" mode. It is shown that for certain known, parallel FFT algorithms the achievable speedup is not sufficient. A simple algorithm is then developed and is shown to lead to high speedups. Even better results are achieved if Winograd\´s FFT algorithm is "parallelized."
