Abstract
The performance of a number of techniques proposed for estimating the quality of optical flow estimates formed using differential methods is considered. The existence of a bias in the optical flow estimates computed using numerical derivatives is demonstrated, as well as the correlation between observed errors and predictions made by using a variety of published confidence estimates
