Abstract
It is shown that the Hilbert transform may be employed to convert the maximum finding task of a delay estimator to one of finding a zero crossing. The basic theory of the technique is shown and a few applications are described. Its primary application is in servo tracking and servo velocity measurement systems which employ correlation techniques. A review of prior work in this field is given.
