Abstract :
A broadband suspended plate antenna fed by double L-shaped strips is presented experimentally and validated numerically. The broad impedance bandwidth is achieved because of the electromagnetic coupling between feeding strips and radiating plate. The radiation performances within the bandwidths are enhanced owing to a symmetrical balanced (balance-like) center-fed design. The impedance and radiation characteristics of the proposed antennas with varied heights are studied experimentally.
