Abstract :
Simon M. Sze has assisted in the editorial functions of IEEE Electron Device Letters ever since its inception in 1980. His major contribution has been to take over the duties of editor during my absence resulting from vacations and extended trips. This amounts to about 10% of the time, which over the years represents a considerable effort and for which I am very grateful. It is now my pleasure to announce that, in addition, he has accepted appointment as Associate Editor where, because of his wide range of interests, he will be handling papers covering the entire field of electron devices. We welcome his expertise and look forward to the improvement he will bring to the journal.
