Abstract :
This paper outlines part of a teaching company scheme in advanced manufacturing technology. Attention is drawn to the outcome of work carried out by just one of the Associates, which was on the evaluation of 3-D modellers within an advanced industrial environment. The scheme is between British Aerospace plc, Aircraft Group, Warton Division, Preston, and Lancashire Polytechnic, also at Preston. The essential activity of the Associate was the evaluation of three 3-D modellers against criteria appropriate for the intended application to modelling engineering product components
