Abstract :
Sodium formate (NaCHO2) has been found to be very nearly noncritically phase matchable for type-2 frequency mixing of the Nd:YAG laser fundamental and second-harmonic radiation at room temperature. The nonlinear optical constant was determined to be d32(NaCHO2) = (1.25 \\pm 0.25) \\times 10^{-9} ESU.
