Abstract
A method was introduced to approximate the solution of the large set of simultaneous equations that result from the application of the finite-difference method to volume conductor problems. It is based on omitting small mesh connections that arise from star-mesh transforms in the finite difference network. The method has the potential to solve very large (n>10 5) sets of equations. Preliminary results are presented.
