Abstract :
Although the problem of pole placement has received enormous attention, the problem of zero placement has been relatively neglected. The latter, however, could be of substantial importance in some design problems, such as actuators and sensors positioning. In this paper, the authors characterize the zeros that ensure H2-optimality of transfer functions and analyze qualitative properties of the resulting systems
