Abstract :
A new device concept is described, which allows parallel processing of optical information. The device is based on the electrooptical properties of MIS structures. The change in the lateral distribution of surface potential from a projected image introduces a perturbation on the current induced by a reference image. It is demonstrated how this principle can be used for image recognition.
