Abstract
A new technique for high quality syntheses of musical voices (instruments) is presented, it is a harmonic synthesis method based on weighted window function "pulse" sequences. The technique eliminates the problem of aliasing in its discrete-time implementation. High fidelity emulations of "natural" instruments are achieved at a greatly reduced cost in multiplies per sample time. In addition, parameter update rates can be as much as an order of magnitude lower than those required by competing methods.
