Abstract :
-Power levels of 17 kW in 0.7 μs pulses have been obtained from the 2.14 mm transition of NH3when optically pumped by a 65 J CO2TEA laser. Photon conversion efficiencies of 11 percent have been achieved. This is the first high-power laser line observed to work in the 140 GHz atmospheric window.
