Abstract :
An expression for surface-charge density of an excitable nerve membrane is obtained using Maxwell´s equations. The surface-charg edensity is plotted for various frequencies and membrane thicknesses.It is observed from the plots that there are dips in surface-charg edensity at certain frequencies and membrane thickness; here, an incident wave is transmitted through the membrane.
