Abstract
Continuous operation of the wound-rotor induction motor, when the external resistances in the secondary phases are not equal, is shown to be feasible. The effect upon power factor and heating is discussed. Curves showing the performance of poly-phase motors with single-phase secondary are presented. The practical advantages of using unbalanced secondary connections are pointed out.
