Abstract :
Variable threshold logic(VTL) having changeable weights and a variable threshold was implemented as a MOS circuit. Two binary codes corresponding to data and threshold are multiplied by the weights given as the channel width-to-length ratio of the transistors, and the two inner products given in voltage levels are compared in order to produce a logical output. A VTL circuit, having 16 modes of the weight and employing 16 levels of the voltage, was fabricated and is operated as desired.
