  • Abstract
    For the original article see ibid., vol. 41, no. 4, p. 652-7 (1993). In the aforementioned paper by P. Kwan and C. Vittoria, the commenter considers that the three scattering matrices of the novel nonreciprocal coupling structure and the numbers of independent scattering parameters presented are obtained incorrectly. He proposes a method allowing one to find relations between elements of matrices [S], [Y], and IZ] of symmetrical structures with girotropic media. The scattering matrices and the number of their independent parameters of a nonreciprocal 4-port structure are derived. In reply, Vittoria states that certain matrices in his and Kwan\´s paper represent a concise and compact description of the experimental data. The matrices do not represent their theory or modeling of the data. It is the "raw" data of the experiments. Additionally, the authors take the opportunity to make a number of corrections to their paper.<>
