Abstract :
This special issue on the ENIAC comes at an important point as 14 February 1996 marks the 50th anniversary of the public unveiling of ENIAC at the Moore School. The ENIAC, while not a stored programmed computer, was the first machine to do all its computations at electronic speed and thus gave us a starting point for the beginning of the modern era. A brief summary of the collection of articles to help celebrate the occasion is provided.
