Abstract :
An FEL oscillator operated in steady state with a phase area displacement wiggler in conjunction with a storage ring is investigated with the aid of a one-dimensional numerical simulation code. Theoretical estimates are made of the FEL efficiency which are in reasonable agreement with that observed in the simulations.
