Abstract :
This paper gives figures as to the power cost and current consumption of anthracite mines and the reasons for these being in excess of the requirements for bituminous mines. Estimates are also given as to the additional coal that will be released by the electrification of the anthracite mines. Illustrations are included showing representative installations of electric drive.
