Abstract :
The use of nonlinear devices such as rectifiers or converters, power supplies and other devices utilizing solid-state switching has increased in industry during. Unfortunately, the effect of harmonic distortion has also increased on the industrial power system as a direct result. This paper is based upon actual harmonic studies on 480 V, three-phase, variable speed drives and the effects of harmonics on transformers in those systems. It also includes the recommendations for correction of the problems resulting from harmonic distortion
