Abstract
The technology developed to meet LHC (Large Hadron Collider) dipole superconductive cable requirements is discussed. The program carried out includes the development of a 5-μm NbTi filament, high J c and low-magnetization elementary strands for high-field applications, and the manufacture of large compacted keystone cables. Characteristics of the NbTi strands and cables manufactured are presented, as well as test results performed at 4.2 K and below for magnetic field up to 11 T
