Abstract :
This paper presents a simple method for drastic reduction of the computational requirement for realization of the quasi-noise alone reference (QNAR) estimation of noise power [1]. The new estimator does not bring forth performance degradation, as shown by extensive computer simulations, and is amenable to hardware implementation for certain real-time signal processing problems.
