Abstract :
The effect of grit structure on the performance of poly-Si solar cells has been studied. Grit decreases open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current, and fill factor due to an increase in grain boundary density and inhomogenous grain size distribution, the former through enhanced space-charge recombination and the latter through parallel combination of mismatched cells.
