Abstract :
An efficient version of the E-pulse method is discussed and generalized in the context of radar target pole retrieval from the scattered field. Its relation to the generalized Prony´s method is investigated. It is shown that the E-pulse method can be efficiently implemented using a smoothing-and-sampling procedure and a Prony´s approach. The tradeoff between noise insensitivity and computational burden influenced by various parameters is pointed out.<>
