Abstract :
In this correspondence, we report about a simulation study of the tapered and energy-weighted Burg methods for sinusoidal signals. We confirm Swingler´s results about the frequency estimation error and extend them for frequency resolution. We also discuss some drawbacks of the energy-weighted Burg methods. On the basis of the results reported in this correspondence, we show that the optimum-tapered Burg method results in the best performance.
