Abstract :
The majority of courses in software engineering concentrate on educating students in the methods applicable to the development stage of the software lifecycle. Software maintenance is recognised as the most expensive phase of the software lifecycle, and yet it receives very little attention from those involved in software engineering education. The paper describes a novel approach to software maintenance education which is being undertaken at the University of Durham
