Abstract :
This paper provides a new simulation method for the ventilation system of the hydroturbine generator-motor. The method is based on the network theory and has an advantage that unknown variables are reduced to two sets, pressures at nodes and velocities at elements, while in previous method, a set of pressure drops at elements is moreover considered. Comparing simulated flow characteristics of the ventilation system with measured one which were obtained through tests of model generator-motor and actual one, it was clarified that the proposed simulation method is applicable in the design of large generator-motors.
