Abstract :
Automatic generation control (AGC) programs at Saudi Consolidated Electric Companies (SCECO) identify how various plant and system parameters affect reserve capacity and how frequency bias settings influence AGC response, system time error, and inadvertent interchange. Three methods of control for correction of system time error and inadvertent interchange are analyzed with regard to their application to the SCECO interconnected power system. To improve control performance, new software programs are recommended.<>
