Abstract :
The special characters of the magnetron cathode are discussed. Relations between anode and back bombardment currents, and thermal and secondary electrons are analyzed in detail. Within certain ranges, the above parameters can mutually readjust among themselves to guarantee good performance of the magnetron, while out of these ranges, instabilities and low efficiency occur. Finally, the merits and demerits of existing cathodes are also given.
