Abstract :
A simple geometrically based angle of arrival (AOA) model for mobile communication systems is proposed. The model is based on the assumptions that scatterers are uniformly distributed around the base station and each scatterer is an omnidirectional reradiating element. Results show that the AOA depends on the ratio of the distance between the base station and the mobile receiver to the radius of the cell and the beamwidth of the base antenna.
