Abstract :
The author describes advances in high-voltage solid-state pulser technology which have allowed the generation of multi-kilovolt pulses with less than one tenth of a nanosecond risetime. High-speed camera design, laser pulse switching and broadband radar have benefited from the developments which have provided a range of compact pulse sources.
