  • Abstract
The quadrupole splits and oscillations of the Nd, Co, and B NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) lines make it possible to obtain the values of electric field gradients on those atoms in Nd2Co14B. To explain observed electric field gradients, the calculated lattice contributions and intraatomic contributions are considered to give reasonable agreement with the experimental values. From these analyses it is concluded that the effective boron charge is negative.
