Abstract :
Quality healthcare increasingly means addressing the security, privacy, and confidentiality of medical records in both wire-line and wireless environments. This article attempts to address these concerns by presenting a comparison of data-flow patterns in an electronic healthcare setting to those in traditional medical offices and demonstrating cost-effective ways that IT consultants can help healthcare providers working in EHRs maintain and administer their own privacy and security policies.
