Abstract :
This correspondence presents a class of stochastic filters that realize spatial smoothing, a concept recently proposed to counter the effects of rank degeneracy in multiple source location and adaptive signal processing. It is shown that these filters are economic computationally, and thus preferable to direct computation of covariance matrices for achieving spatial smoothing.
