Abstract
In order to develop extremely compact camera tubes which feature low power consumption comparable to solid-state imagers, we have developed an all-electrostatic camera tube based on electron optics characterized by a single-and-positive lens system composed of disk and cylinder electrodes. The new system was found to be very useful in producing compact high-performance camera tubes, due to its simple configuration and lack of negative lens component.
