Abstract
Homogeneous broadenings and gain spectra in semiconductor lasers have been theoretically estimated, involving non-Markovian relaxation processes. The estimated spontaneous emission spectrum is in fair agreement with the observed one for a GaAlAs laser. The advantages of the present model, compared to conventional Lorentzian and delta-function models, are discussed.
