Abstract
This article presents a briefs description of the COSMIC (Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere, and Climate) constellation´s capabilities as a GPS based meteorological instrument. It demonstrates the predictive powers of a new technique called near-real-time radio occultation.
