  • Abstract
    In the paper by Rajagopal and Ramakrishna (see IEE Proc. F, Radar Signal Process., vol.138, no.5, p.495-501, 1991) a matrix decomposition method (MDM) for direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation in an unknown noise field is presented. A solution to this array signal processing problem is derived. In this paper the authors state that the MDM used in the above paper is a variant of MUSIC (see Johnson and Degraff, 1982). They consider the example of three narrowband signals impinging on a uniform linear array
