Abstract
A study of high-temperature superconductor composites for use in magnetic bearings applications is presented. Fabrication and characterization techniques are described. Magnetometry and mechanical force measurements are correlated, with particular emphasis on the role of superconductor particle size. Results are discussed in terms of the fundamental limits of Meissner effect levitation
