The operator/computer interface-ensuring a good working relationship

The author briefly discusses the problems of introducing computer controlled equipment without adequate training and support. One way of improving the situation is to provide a more interactive user/machine interface, the interface being the physical device as well as the program for controlling interaction. For an interface to be viable it must be cost-effective and inherently flexible.
