Awards nominations

Nominations are solicited from members of the ASSP Society for the 1977 awards to be presented at the 1978 ICASSP in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. The awards and their associated criteria follow. ASSP Society Award: To honor a person who has made outstanding technical contributions in a field within the scope of the Society and who has provided outstanding leadership in that field. Technical Achievement Award: To honor a person who, over a period of years, has made outstanding technical contributions within the scope of the Society as documented by publications or patents. Senior Award: To honor a person who is an author of a paper (published that calendar year) of exceptional merit dealing with a subject related to the Society´s technical scope, and appearing in the Society´s Transactions, irrespective of the author´s age. ASSP Paper Award: To honor a person who is the author of an especially meritorious paper (published that calendar year) dealing with a subject related to the Society´s technical scope appearing in the Society´s Transactions; and who upon date of submission of the paper shall be less than 30 years of age. Meritorious Service Award: To honor a person on the basis of significant contributions to the Society´s efforts.
